FAIL FORWARD

Have you ever heard the term "fail forward?" In short, it means "Don't give up - Keep going."

The term “fail forward” is often used in the business world to mean that when a business venture fails, the individuals involved should learn from the experience and use that knowledge to improve their chances of success in future endeavors.

In personal development, failing forward can mean different things to different people.

For some, it may mean taking risks and learning from the experience, even if it doesn’t work out in the end. For others, it may mean not letting past failures define you or hold you back from trying again.

When fitness is a concern, there’s no such thing as failing; instead, there’s only room for improvement.

You’re making progress every time you work out a little harder or push yourself further than before. And whenever you feel like you’ve failed and don’t give up, you get stronger, improving your overall fitness, and you’re one step closer to success.

So, don’t be discouraged if you don’t see immediate results–just keep moving forward, and eventually, you’ll get there.

There is a learning curve for everything you do. No matter what new skill or habit you’re working on, you must be bad before being good.

Truth be told, failure is an essential step on the way to your ultimate success.

Think about it: If everything always goes according to plan, and you hit all your exercise and nutrition goals 100% of the time, does that make you successful?

Not really. I’d argue that it makes you successful at aspiring to be ordinary.

If you never fail, you’re stuck in your comfort zone. To succeed, you’ll need to venture outside of your comfort zone.

The only way to become good at anything is to … keep trying.

Here’s an example: If you’re just getting started with fitness, learn to embrace being bad at it initially. That’s the only precursor to becoming good at it. It’s a necessary step that can’t be skipped.

Now … there’s where the REAL magic happens …

If you’ve been doing it for a while and are pretty competent now … NEVER forget how it felt when you started.

This will help you appreciate how much you’ve improved.

That is something we see very frequently. After our students achieve a certain amount of strength and success, they often forget where they came from and take it for granted.

Never forget where you came from. It’s a great reminder that wherever you are on your fitness journey, there’s still a long way to go.

Enjoy the journey; that’s the best part.

The fail-forward mindset can be applied to any area of life, and it is a reminder that it is better to try and fail than never to try at all.

Whatever your definition of failing forward may be, the important thing is not to let past failures hold you back from future success. Instead, learn from your mistakes and use that knowledge to make better choices in the future.

Sincerely,

Batista Gremaund
