Breathing fresh air today and skipping the treadmill will do you good

If you are like most people nowadays, you are not breathing fresh air, as you are probably spending most of your time indoor, unless of course your job requires you to be outside in nature, such as a park ranger, a lifeguard, or even gardener

The great majority of people however spend most of their time indoor. We are looking here at an average of 7 to 8 hours in an office, and most likely spending evenings at home in front of the television, in a movie theater, or maybe in some kind of networking events or other activities, which are probably taking place inside as well.

On your time off, in your best attempt to get in shape, you hit the gym and spend another 45 minutes on a treadmill.

Are you breathing enough fresh air?

People often forget about the importance of spending time outside and underestimate the importance of breathing fresh air. In fact, breathing fresh air is of vital importance to the proper functioning of your organs.

Some of the benefits of breathing fresh air include improved digestion and blood pressure, it strengthen your immune system, cleans your lungs. Hitting a little bit of sunshine produces vitamin D, which helps fight certain conditions such as osteoporosis cancer and depression for example. (Don’t overdo the sun though). Spending time outdoors will also improve the quality of your sleep; you’ll get a clearer mind increasing focus, memory and the ability to learn.

Breathing fresh air also helps the mind in general you’ll just feel better and happier. And of course it also helps with weight loss.

Here are a few tips on how you can spend more time outdoors:

  1. Pick up a hobby that requires you to be outside such as gardening, fishing or golfing
  2. Instead of using a treadmill, go for a walk outside
  3. Plan a Sunday barbecue with friends at a local park
  4. Plan your weekends and time off wisely
  5. Go on a picnic with your honey
  6. Go for a moonlight walk
  7. Go camping
  8. Go see the sunset
  9. Use your lunch hour wisely
  10. Find a quiet outdoor spot for you daily meditation

The bottom line is to have more awareness of the benefits it would reap and to make a conscious decision to spend more time outdoor breathing fresh air. Just make it a habit.
